Tyler Hamo Death, Obituary: Man Shot and Killed at Apartment Complex in NE Fresno Identified

Authorities have identified the man who was shot and killed at an apartment complex in northwest Fresno overnight.

During a press conference held on Friday afternoon, details of the tragic incident were shared by law enforcement officials, shedding light on the events that transpired.

The shooting occurred shortly after midnight at the Windscape Apartments, located on Nees Avenue near Poplar Avenue. Upon receiving reports of gunfire, Fresno police officers quickly responded to the scene.

Upon arrival, they observed bullet holes in the front door of the apartment and found shell casings scattered on the upstairs landing, indicating a violent confrontation had taken place.

Inside the apartment, officers discovered 33-year-old Tyler Hamon unresponsive in a bedroom. He had suffered a gunshot wound to the back.

Emergency responders promptly transported him to a nearby hospital for treatment; however, despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.

Fresno Police Lieutenant Paul Cervantes confirmed during the press conference that the investigation is ongoing and emphasized that authorities are actively searching for the shooter.

“I know for sure there was one armed suspect,” Lt. Cervantes stated, underscoring the urgency of finding the individual responsible for this act of violence.
