A West Duluth, MN man passed away from suicide after shooting and killing his entire family on Thursday. 46-year-old Anthony Nephew shot and killed his wife 45-year-old Kathryn Nephew (Ramsland), his children 15-year-old Jacob Nephew, 7-year-old Oliver Nephew, and 47-year-old Erin Abramson on Thursday, November 7, 2024.
According to Duluth Police Department, Erin Abramson and Jacob were found dead from gunshot wounds at the home in the 6000 block of Tacony Street. Moments later, Ramsland and 7-year-old Oliver were found dead with gunshot wounds at a home in the 4400 block of West 6th Street.
The suspect now identified as Anthony Nephew (Kathy’s husband) was located sufferng from a self-inflicted gunshot wound inside the West 6th home. He died at the scene of the incident.
Nephew Family Murder-Suicide
An initial investigation reveals that a 47-year-old female and a juvenile were found dead inside a residence in the 6000 block of Tacony Street, both with multiple gunshot wounds.
A suspect was identified, and officers established a perimeter around his home in the 4400 block of West 6th Street. Officers entered the home and discovered a 45-year-old female and a juvenile dead from what appeared to be gunshot wounds.
The suspect, a 46-year-old man, was also found dead from what seems to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The individuals knew each other. There is no current threat to the community.
