The M1 northbound is currently closed due to a police incident, with traffic being diverted at BP. This follows a developing situation at Coomera Bridge, where a woman was positioned on the edge of the bridge during peak hour.
Emergency services are on site and working to resolve the situation. The woman has since moved to a more precarious position, hanging from the bridge near the Brisbane sign, heading northbound towards Brisbane in Coomera.
It is now believed the woman has either fallen or jumped from the bridge, sustaining injuries. She has been safely rescued and has been transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and follow all detour signs.
