At a Peoria High School football Game, A teenager is Accused of Stabbing a Boy.
A 14-year-old boy is facing serious charges after he was arrested nearly two weeks following a stabbing at a Peoria High School football game earlier this month.
The suspect turned himself over to the police on Wednesday. He was booked into the Durango Juvenile Detention Facility on two counts of aggravated assault and one count of assault.
On the night of Oct. 18, the two boys apparently got into a fight near the bleachers at Peoria High School, near 83rd Avenue and Grand Avenue.
That’s when the 14-year-old stabbed the other in the stomach, police said.
The victim was taken to the hospital with minor injuries while the suspect took off from the scene.
Police said the recommended charges could be amended.
“The campus grounds at every school should be considered a safe place, and those willing to compromise that will be identified, arrested, and prosecuted to the full extent of the law,” the Peoria Police Department said in a statement.
