According to sources, Benjamin Dessange, the youngest son of renowned French hairdresser Jacques Dessange, who passed away in 2020, died on November 5 at the age of 57.
He was scheduled to stand trial for severe sexual harassment in Paris.
The information of his disappearance, transmitted to AFP by a source close to the case, was confirmed on Thursday by the Dessange International group. Benjamin Dessange was the former Chairman of the Executive Board at Dessange International.
Benjamin Dessange Accusation
In 2014 and 2015, Annabel Talon, a former employee of the Dessange business, filed a case against the stars’ hairdresser’s successor.
She said that the person who had taken over as president of Dessange International had “an inappropriate attitude” toward her since 2011, accusing him of sexual harassment, hostile phone calls, and deliberate violence. Until she departed the organization as part of a mutual termination, this continued for two years.
Following Benjamin Dessange’s indictment in October 2022, an investigating judge ordered a trial before the criminal court on April 8. The judge primarily relied on testimony from personal and professional circles that reported inappropriate behaviour toward her, as well as approximately fifty text messages that Benjamin Dessange sent her, some of which were sexual in nature.
Because of the hierarchical connection and Benjamin Dessange’s right of oversight over the complainant’s work, the judge had kept the aggravating circumstance of abuse of authority.
